Vision

-To contribute in improving the competitiveness of entire Japanese industry through accelerating open innovation of the virtual reality (VR) in Japan.
-To develop a business foundation and a better environment for the Japanese VR startup to compete in the global market by investing (seed funding), proving industry information, creating communities for developers.

Details of the program

Details of the program

1. 6 month program (2 month pre-program + 4 month main program)
In the Pre-program, the participants will have maximum 2 months for team building and project planning. The teams and the project plans will be judged as the final selection for the Main-program. In the Main-program, the participants will develop their prototypes for 4 months.

2. Development and business support
TVS will support the participants to accelerate their development.

3. Mentorship from experts
The participants can get advice from experts from Japan and abroad.

4. Demo Day
We will have Demo Day twice and the participants can demonstrate their products and services in front of VC, investors, and industrial companies.

1. Free Office Space
TVS incubation center is available 24 hours for the participants. (maximum 2 members/team)

2. Mentorship
The participants can receive mentoring by Kunimitsu (CEO at gumi. Inc.) and TVS mentors.


Support in Main-Program

Support in Main-Program

1. Financial Support
- TVS provides ¥5,000,000 - ¥10,000,000 of financial support for each development project.
- TVS will acquire a 5 % of the equity stake in the participant’s company.
- gumi Inc. will have the preferential negotiation rights for the next funding of the participants.

2. Development Environment
During the program, the participants can use TVS incubation center for free. Also, Back-Office services are provided so that the participants can focus on the development.
3. Mentorship
The participants can receive mentoring by Kunimitsu (CEO at gumi. Inc.) and TVS mentors.

4. Other supports
Other supports for VR development will be provided for the special price.

1. Application Deadline

2. Who should apply?
- Exceptional developers who have the worldwide vision and innovative idea in VR technology.

3. Requirements
- The participants are required to build up a prototype of VR product or services within six months of the program.
- The participants need to be a registered company, or non-registered individuals or teams.
* If participants are non-registered individuals or teams, the register of companies is required.
* The location of the company needs to be at TVS incubation center.
- Anybody is welcome regardless of age, sex, race, or nationality.
- The participants are strongly encouraged to join the events of TVS.

After the selection by application documents, the applicants will have individual interviews. TVS will start the selection as the applications are submitted.

Pre-program starts. (June 2017)

Demo Day 1 (the end of August 2017)
The participants will have an opportunity to demonstrate their VR products and services in front of TVS members.

Demo Day 2 (the end of November or the beginning of December 2017)
The participants will have an opportunity to demonstrate their developed prototypes of VR products and services in front of VC, investors, and industrial companies.
 ↓
Further support
Depends on the possibility of commercialization, TVS will consider further support such as investment, business partnership, and productization for the participants.
